You dream of filling your home with music and seeing your child shine when sharing songs at the piano with friends and family. But often, students discover that traditional piano lessons focus on repertoire that feels foreign or irrelevant, leading to a sense of frustration and boredom.
Shir Piano caters to the specific music goals of our students, offering programs that focus on developing quality skills and technique as well as incorporating repertoire that is familiar and loved.
Foundation Program (ages 8 and up)
Students get started right, learning proper technique and sight reading in an engaging, intuitive, and creative way. Your child will feel excited and accomplished!
Accelerated Program
Students who are ready to learn more, faster, are invited to participate in this specially-designed track. In addition to advanced technique and sightreading, students also learn to navigate chords and accompaniment.
The Accelerated Program emphasizes empowering independence, confidence, and creativity at the piano.
Fermata Program (For Women)
Take a musical pause (fermata) from the chaos of daily life.
Experience the fun and satisfaction of playing piano, whether you’re beginning now or have learned piano in the past. Plus, learning an instrument, particularly piano, has been shown to positively impact physical and emotional health, as well as brain fitness.

A well-rounded musician, in our opinion, can do both. Students who are just starting out will, in the Foundations Track, focus on solid reading and technical skills. Once students have mastered the foundations, they can advance to the Accelerated Track and discover the world of chords, accompaniment, and playing by ear.
Innate talent is a bracha, yet what matters more is motivation and consistency. Often, students who claim they are not musical have discovered that learning piano has awakened musical perceptiveness they didn’t know they had. With dedication, anyone can learn to play piano beautifully.
No, buying a digital piano with weighted keys is an excellent starting point. If you don’t have an instrument at home yet, I’d be happy to help you find one.
Yes. We offer multiple performance opportunities throughout the year, where students who wish to perform have the chance to inspire their relatives and friends with their accomplishments.
We are the only international Jewish piano studio for frum kids and women that offers live, virtual instruction. Unlike a prerecorded video course, our lessons are live and dynamic, customized to the students present.
While many teachers follow a strict approach of either traditional methods/classical music or playing by ear, we guide our students to be musically literate as well as encourage independent creativity and style. Students can have their cake and eat it too when it comes to reading notes and developing their musical ear.
We believe the main thing is to have fun at the piano– and teach accordingly.

Families who are looking for a convenient and efficient way to nourish their children’s creativity and skills, so they feel accomplished, self-confident, and special.
Lessons are taught in-studio in Jerusalem, or online to kids and women internationally. Families choose what works best for them–some students who live in the same apartment building or just a few blocks away participate via Zoom, while other students commute over an hour to be present in the Jerusalem studio. Students benefit from clear and engaging lessons built on the same tested and proven pedagogic methods, whatever their geographical location.
Because a specific time is reserved for each student, we do not offer make-up lessons, refunds, or credits. Students who do not attend a lesson will simply miss the benefit of that lesson. However, if our teachers have to miss a class, a make-up lesson will be scheduled ASAP.
